Tuesday Thingers

Today's question: Series. Do you collect any series? Do you read series books? Fantasy? Mystery? Science fiction? Religious? Other genre? Do you use the series feature in LT to help you find new books or figure out what you might be missing from a series?
My Answer: Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes??? As a matter of fact, I do collect series, and have since I was a tween! Now that I'm in my early 30's, my husband says a few of them need to go!! You see, I've got TOO many! I read all genres, and have found some wonderful series in each one.
Some favorites:
Fantasy: Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel series (6 books now, more to come)
Romance: Stephanie Lauren's Cynster books, Bastion Club, etc (she's got quite a few good ones out)
Christian: Janette Oke's Canadian West series, Francine Rivers' Women of the Bible Series, Orson Scott Card's Women of the bible series (Yes - THE Orson Scott Card who normally writes Sci-Fi-ish books!!!!)
I really could go on and on! There are some great series out there! Until I participated in this Tuesday Thinger, I wasn't aware that LT had a series feature! Thanks for letting me know - I'll be sure to head over and check it out!
~ Wendi
Update: I forgot a few great ones!! Most recently I've read the entire Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher - wow was I surprised that I liked them!! Then of course, there are the children's classic series like The Five Peppers and How They Grew, Little House on the Prarie, CS Lewis' Narnia series, I really could go on and on!!

Welcome to Tuesday Thingers! I have most of Stephanie Laurens's Cynster series, but not the Bastion Club ones. I heard they weren't as good. What do you think?

And as you know, I love the Kushiel series. I can't wait for the next book; same universe, some distance from Phedre, Joscelin, Imriel, and Sidonie. It's very exciting.

Wendi- I haven't actually read the Dresden files yet, I have them sitting here.
I love Francine Rivers. I have the Mark of the Lion Trilogy. I forgot to add that one.

Welcome to Tuesday Thingers. I haven't been doing it too long either.

Wendi - I love your background too!! Great bunch of series you have there - I didn't even think about the ones that I loved when I was younger - like Little House books and C.S. Lewis.

This was my first Tuesday Thingers post too - welcome from one newbie to another - LOL

I own a lot of Janette Oke's books, including the Love Comes Softly series, and forgot all about that one.

You know, I just realized that I never read any of those classic 'kid' series when I was a kid. I was reading something, all the time...I wonder what it was!

I haven't read any of those. Well, except for the Dresden Files. :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I like the book-themed memes you are participating in. I may have to join in some of them myself!

That is a lot of series! I rabidly collected Babysitter's Club as a tween and then gave them to my cousins when I grew out of them. I also had that christian Mandy series.

Welcome to TT! I'm surprised I liked the Dresden Files as well - they're not my usual types of books! But soooo good!

You'll probably find that you learn A LOT about LT by doing the weekly Tuesday Thingers meme :)

Margaret Sidney (author of *Five Little Peppers ...*) lived and wrote in our town; her home is open very limited hours ... I've always wanted to tour it!
