Teaser Tuesday: The Healthy Home: Simple Truths to Protect Your Family From Hidden Household Dangers by Dr. Myron Wentz and Dave Wentz

TEASER TUESDAYS :
hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading ~

The Healthy Home: Simple Truths to Protect Your Family from Hidden Household Dangers
We're exposed to an astonishing number of chemicals every day, and we rarely think about the cumulative effects they might have on our health. When we stop to reflect on a particular product's ingredient panel, most of us shrug and assume, "It must be safe. They wouldn't sell it if it wasn't."

~ page 73 “The Healthy Home: Simple Truths to Protect Your Family From Hidden Household Dangers" by Dr. Myron Wentz and Dave Wentz

About the Book (from Amazon):
InThe Healthy Home, a father and son--Dr. Myron Wentz, well-known microbiologist and founder of the USANA Corporation, and Dave Wentz, CEO of the USANA Corporation--take readers on a tour of a specific home for a look at the surprising health risks posed by the everyday products and behaviors of a modern family. Beginning in the bedroom and ending in the garage and backyard, readers learn about the degenerative effects of toxins in the home and receive simple solutions to help minimize exposure without foregoing convenience.

The Healthy Homeis not a comprehensive tome on modern health hazards; nor is it a treatise on eco-conscious living. Instead, the book focuses on the most important environment--the home--and the problems that can most easily be lessened or eliminated. Busy parents who suspect that they should be doing more to protect their family but don't know where to start will learn about practical changes they can make in the next fifteen minutes, fifteen days, or fifteen months to create a haven for healthier living.

I always look forward to reading everyone's teasers! ~ Wendi

Sounds very informative. We are so germ conscious these days compared to when I was growing up.

Two teasers from me this week - one from a very short story, and the other from a very long one! And one of them is an Aussie author in honour of Aussie Author month!

Sounds interesting but I am not sure it's for me.

Haha this sounds like something I DON'T need to read since I'm already paranoid about that sort of thing! Ack!!!

I try to use as few toxic chemicals as possible but I bet I could better.

This is so true - I know I would go crazy worrying about everything I use in the house.

My teaser is here

I'm pretty paranoid already, so maybe I should stay away from this one...LOL

But it is very true that products are not "safe" just because someone approved them and is selling them.

Thanks for sharing.

Here's
MY TT POST

I've recently gone back to using vinegar for a lot of my household cleaning needs. It was amazing how many chemical products that replaced.

My teaser is at Quirky Girls Read

That captures my attention, but I don't like to ask questions I don't want the answers too. Ha!
