My Thoughts: God is With Me Through The Day and God is With Me Through the Night are both beautiful books, with full color photographs of animals that children and adults will love. The words on each page are large and colorful, making it easy for children to follow along or read. On top of the wonderful pictures and easy to read words, the message throughout the book is very family-oriented and is uplifting and makes children feel more secure. Each book ends with a scripture from the bible.
While the book is recommended for kids ages 4-7, I feel completely fine letting my 2 (almost 3) year old leaf through the book. He does not tear pages, and loves the big colorful pictures and words. The book is also quick enough to read that it keeps his attention, and we can use the pictures to explain the sentiments being expressed, as well as providing other learning opportunities (what is the bird sitting on, where is the bear's foot, how many birds are sitting on the branch, what color is the..., etc). So, I would even recommend this book for children as young as 2 with adult help! They are wonderful and impart very helpful messages.
Pictures: The pictures are wonderful full-color photographs of animals, some are very funny and help to illustrate what Julie Cantrell is writing about.
Story-Line: Very family-friendly, and supportive of young minds. The feelings of security they help provide are wonderful.
Readability: VERY easy to read and enjoyable for all ages.
Overall: These are great books that help to address issues like God is always watching over us, He loves us, He keeps us Safe, etc.
About the Book:
Back Cover: Brave mice and playful puppies inspire little hearts to have big faith. You are safe, brave, and loved because God is always there - all through the day.
Back Cover: Cheerful dolphins and loving zebras inspire timid hearts to have big faith. Even in the dark, God keeps his children safe, brave, and loved. He is always there - all through the night.

For an extra entry, I collect the Disney Read-Aloud books to read with my grandkids when they visit. The pictures are big and bright, and the story is fun. I do occasionally have to shorten the story a little to keep their attention, but they love them.

I seem to be gravitating to the old classics... I love them! I read 'The Velveteen Rabbit' to my favourite little man (nephew) a few months ago, he cried, I cried but it was a great opportunity to share something special with him.

"Disney's Princess Collection"--is basically a big book that goes through the most memorable movies. (short but sweet for each) The fun part about it is the illustrations that look straight out of Disney!

I was babysitting for my friend last night and read (amongst 20 other books) 'Where The Wild Things Are' by Maurice Sendak... I loved this book as a child, but love it more as adult for it's lyrical storytelling as well as the powerful meaning. Thank you!

The Classic I SPY books.
We looked through the Fantasy theme tonight. My little sister likes it because it's fun once finding items, and i think it expands awareness too!
(again, a favorite for me in the 90's) but these books will outlast the decades.

My favourite little nephew was visiting last night and I read him Curious George... A classic favourite of mine, but I love the way the words are strung together, the illustrations and colours.

A book i read today to my little sister called "Down By the Bay". My kidnergarden teacher would read this story to us, we all thought it was so funny! (because there's a song that goes along with it).
Well over the years i have gotten a hold of this and found the song too! It's now a favorite of my little sister and cousins. I love how kids memorize things so easy!

I read Eloise a few weeks ago to my Goddaughter. I loved it as a kid and I love it now especially because the sweet little girl beside me giggled like a monkey through the entire thing!

This past Easter, I read 'Ye-Ning: The Girl of Coconut Tree' with my Goddaughter. It was a lovely story about family, trust, sacrifice, love and hard work and even though it was a child's picture story, it was very emotional.

"Twas the Night Before Christmas" sounds like the simple book of the old poem. The reason this book is GREAT for kids 4 and up? They have interactive pages where kids can lift, pull and slide parts of the pages to reveal hidden items like toys and other christmas fun to make this story come to life!
Kids love hands on activities, even to the last story they read at night!
panicxduh@yahoo.com
I read "God Gave Us Christmas" to my nephew last night. I liked the book as it's a series that makes a great introduction to young children about the concept of God. I also liked the colours and the fact that the family featured are Polar Bears (very Canadian). Please accept this as my entry. Thank you.

The Three Trees.
The illustrations in this book not only present such Granduer but meaning to the story. The connection to the bible is obvious [With the trees being chopped down for useful events we know from the bible]
I thought it was really cool how this book is good for both children and adults! The moral is that even though we think we're stuck and not making any difference sometimes, God uses us for marvelous things in the big picture!
Definitely worth checking out.

A few weeks ago, I remember reading What Do People Do All Day? by Richard Scary to my nephew. I remember reading this myself as a kid and loving the detailed images and illustrations and how everything was new and unique each time I looked inside the book. Same thing as an adult.
Thanks!

"The Bearnstein Bears and the big Lie" Well first off, this collection of books always comes with clear morals and fun illustrations meant for any kid!
The Big Lie is a book about Sister Bear and Brother Bear getting into some trouble by breaking a vase and blaming on a random exotic bird that obviously doesn't exist!
It's funny, practical and the best family this is for? a family of 4 Mom-Dad-Brother-Sister just like the bernstein bears!

I read a classic Hans Christian Anderson story of 'The Snow Queen' last month to my Goddaughter. I loved this particular version because of the beautiful, detailed illustrations...

Yesterday, I made it a point to read 'The Giving Tree' by Shel Silverstein to my nephew... It was a favourite of mine as a child, because of the story and the simple illustrations and of course the colour green which was my favourite. But as an adult, I appreciate it's morals and ethics and the beautiful way in which sharing, giving, being throughtful, loving and caring are presented.
